Budgeting My Blessing

This powerful message challenges us to examine how we steward the financial blessings God has entrusted to us. Drawing from Matthew 25:14-30, the parable of the talents, we're reminded that God gives each of us resources according to our ability, and He expects us to manage them wisely. The core truth here is transformative: we are not merely consumers, but stewards. The money flowing through our hands isn't truly ours; it's entrusted to us by our Master who will one day return to audit our accounts. The message confronts a critical reality: many of us can obtain things, but the real question is whether we can retain them. Living beyond our means, accumulating debt, and failing to budget properly doesn't just hurt us financially; it undermines our ability to fulfill God's commission in the world. The parable shows us three responses to God's blessings: those who immediately invest and multiply what they're given, and those who bury their blessing out of fear. When Christ returns, what will His response be to how we've managed what He gave us? This isn't about becoming wealthy; it's about becoming comfortable enough to be generous, to support Kingdom work, to leave an inheritance for future generations, and to respond when God calls us to give. The call is clear: budget your blessing, live with discipline, and prepare to hear 'well done, good and faithful servant' when our Master returns.
